This is when I found mastermind groups. I am an honorary member of Rich Schefren, Frank Kern and a few other mastermind groups as well as our own Elite Retreat. Its pretty refreshing because while these people might be affiliate marketers or pay per click ninja’s, they are all building successful businesses and not just making a few bucks over night to go buy a new car and be a flashy keyboard warrior on some forum.
But a mastermind forum is pretty much offline for all intensive purposes. And the ones I am a “honorary member” of are $10,000+ plus a month.
I never really found value in LinkedIn. In fact if you contact me you get a email saying something to the effect that I think LinkedIn sucks. Maybe you have found value in it? I could see it for those who are looking for a job, but I dunno I just always got hammered from people requesting that I vouch for them or some shit that I thought was retarded.
Then one day Travis Ketchum told me about Namesake. I had heard of it before, but never signed up. It was a startup created by my friend Brian Norgard (Elite Retreat 6 speaker).
Long story short I have made 3 posts on Namesake …. 2 helping people.
The last one was when I was looking for a transactional email service. I was using Sendgrid and totally loved it, but I did not think it could do what I wanted. So I described in detail what I was looking for and to my surprise, literally within 25 minutes, the founder of Sendgrid responded with his FRICKING CELLPHONE.
I was amazed.
Since, used Sendgrid as a great networking platform.
I love the fact that nobody is anonymous. But, I also love the fact Namesake offers the best features of online forum reputation systems mixed with realtime chat of IRC. My 2 previous favorite ways to network.
Anyway I have found a ton of value in Namesake and maybe you will also. Check it out here.
